Rand Paul romps...

In his victory speech, [Rand] Paul applauded the tea party movement and issued a stern warning to the political establishment: "I have a message, a message from the tea party, a message that is loud and clear and does not mince words: We've come to take our government back."

BEHIND OBAMA’S PHONY DEFICIT NUMBERS

President Obama is being disingenuous when he says that the budget deficit he faced “when I walked in the door” of the White House was $1.3 trillion. He went on to say that he only increased it to $1.4 trillion in 2009 and was raising it to $1.6 trillion in 2010.

Congressman Joe Wilson might have said “you lie,” but we’ll settle for “you distort.”

Marching Orders and Talking Points

In the past we have refrained from giving any kind of marching orders or talking points, or what you can do to get active. We have received enough requests from those who've asked "what's next?" that this seems only logical now. It's great to stand at a rally for an hour and a half holding a sign or a flag and listen to speeches every couple of months, but what is next?

Here are a few things that you can do, we are doing them so we know that they are doable:

1. Organize in your town or community.

There are more people than you know in your town or community who are looking for someone near them to get things started. Be that person. Currently, we are trying to organize the 2nd District by Connecticut State Senatorial and Legislative Districts. Contact Jen or myself to help get your area organized or to see if someone in your area has already started. It's not that hard.

2. Let Your Voice be Heard

Make phone calls, write letters, send emails and/or faxes to your legislators. Write letters to the editors of your local newspapers. No matter what you have heard from the lame steam media repeaters (main stream media reporters) these methods do work. Look at our recent results with the Health Care legislation in the U.S. Senate. They wanted that done before August of 2009. It lingered until the morning of Christmas Eve (December 24th). Now all of these Senators have to come home to deal with all of their constituent's. How many of these brave men and women will really hang around to take the verbal beating from you, the voters?

3. Use your other assets

You have cash, time and energy. Find a candidate for a particular office that you want to support and donate some money to them. You can find candidates for many offices on our Candidates 2010 page. Do your research and find the right person for the job. If you can't donate a lot of money make a small donation. Remember some of these people run on very small budgets. A thousand $5.00 donations is better than  two $2500.00 donations. Because many more people are interested in that candidate.

If you have no money to support your candidate of choice then donate your time and energy. I have never heard of a candidate turning away a volunteer. Have you? You can use you time and energy to make phone calls, hand out flyer's, knock on doors or whatever.  Just get involved!
